MAGNA — A man was arrested Tuesday after police say he drove drunk on I-80, then pulled over and lay naked in front of oncoming traffic on the side of the freeway.
The man was located by Utah Highway Patrol troopers about 5:30 a.m. on the shoulder of westbound I-80 in Magna. He was nude except for a harness wrapped around his waist, a Salt Lake County Jail report states.
The man, 50, told police he had consumed 12 beers in three hours and then drove out to I-80. The trooper administered a chemical breath test that measured the man's blood-alcohol content at 0.126, more than 1 ½ times the legal limit of .08.
He was arrested for investigation of gross lewdness, DUI, having an open container in his vehicle and no license.
