NORTH LOGAN — An Idaho man was critically injured in North Logan Monday when he crashed his motorcycle into the back of a pickup truck.

The accident happened at about 5 p.m. near 2800 N. Main St. Dwayne Monson, 53, of Preston, Idaho, was headed north on Main and ran his Honda Shadow Motorcycle into the back of a Chevy Silverado pickup truck as it slowed for a construction zone, according to a statement from the North Logan Police Department.

The impact of the collision sent both Monson and his motorcycle airborne, and they landed in the southbound lanes of traffic, the statement said.

Monson was transported to Cache Valley Hospital and later flown to a Salt Lake area hospital in critical condition.

He was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, according to police.
