LOGAN — A missing hunter was found safe Monday morning, officials confirm.

The Rich County Sheriff's office confirmed the missing hunter was found by another hunter and reports he is in "excellent" condition. The hunter is heading back to his camp near Curtis Creek.

Search and rescue crews gathered Monday for a second day of searching for the missing hunter.

They hope to use dogs, ATVs, and a helicopter as they search on foot for the missing man.

The hunter, who is about 70 years old, was last seen Sunday morning at the Curtis Creek Campground about 45 miles east of Logan. He told his hunting companions he was going to hunt deer and took two bottles of water and some gear with him.

Companions called for help when he did not return to camp at lunchtime. Searchers began looking for him around 2:30 p.m. but did not find him. The search was suspended due to darkness and set to restart Monday morning.

More information will be posted as it becomes available.
