DES MOINES- The Salt Lake Bees edged the Iowa Cubs 3-2 on Sunday afternoon in a game that featured the fifth triple play turned in franchise history. The Bees had taken a 2-0 lead in the second on an RBI single by Vance Albitz and a run scoring ground out by Tony Campana, but Manny Ramirez opened the bottom of the second with a single and moved to second on a base hit by Josh Vitters. Logan Watkins followed with a line drive that was caught by Salt Lake pitcher Wade LeBlanc for the first out. He then threw to second to double off Ramirez and shortstop Shawn O'Malley fired to first baseman C.J. Cron to triple off Vitters.


Bees starter Wade LeBlanc (10-3) earned the win, as he went six innings and allowed just one run on seven hits with eight strikeouts and two walks.

Yoslan Herrera followed with two scoreless innings and Cam Bedrosian picked up his first save with the Bees, despite allowing one run in the ninth. Iowa had the tying run at third with two out, but Bedrosian fanned Ryan Kalish to end the game. Ryan Wheeler led Salt Lake with three hits and one run batted in, while Roberto Lopez doubled in the sixth to extend his hitting streak to nine games.
