OGDEN — Ogden police and Division of Child and Family Services asking the public for help locating a missing mother and son.

The family of Gina Cross and her 7-year-old son Noah Gardner contacted police concerned about their welfare.

Cross is “mentally ill and delinquent in her treatment plan,” Ogden police said.

Cross and Gardner were last seen leaving St. Anne’s Center at 137 W. Binford Street in Ogden last Friday in the late afternoon/early evening, but police were unsure which direction they were headed.

Lt. Danielle Croyle of the Ogden Police Department said Cross and Gardner left the Tooele area a few years ago and were later located in Fresno, California.

"We're concerned because of her diminished mental capacity," Croyle said. "She doesn't have the means to properly support her or her son. They just haven't been in contact with family."

Croyle specified that the search is being conducted as a welfare check rather than an Amber Alert because Cross has legal custody of Noah and their disappearance is not considered a kidnapping.

Cross is described as 5 foot 1 inches tall and 92 lbs. with brown hair and brown eyes. Gardner is approximately 3 foot 6 inches and 60 lbs. with blond hair and blue eyes.

Anyone with information regarding Cross and Gardner’s whereabouts are asked to contact the Ogden City Police Department at 801-629-8221.
