FARMINGTON CANYON — An elderly man died after possibly suffering from a medical condition while riding on an ATV.

Early Monday afternoon, an 84-year-old man was riding with a group of riders in Farmington Canyon near Beaver Ponds when he suffered from a “possible” medical condition, officials from the Davis County Sheriff’s Office said.

An off-duty firefighter was on scene performing CPR on the man, a witness told dispatch, and believed he was in cardiac arrest.

The Farmington Fire Department and the sheriff’s office responded, declaring the man deceased.

An official cause of death will be determined by the State Medical Examiner’s Office. Officials did not identify the man, pending notification of family.
