SALT LAKE CITY — A two-alarm fire heavily damaged the house of two people Saturday night, according to the Salt Lake City Fire Department.

At 10:53 p.m., fire crews responded to a fire that originated in the backyard of a two-story house at 336 S. 1200 East before it destroyed a shed and severely damaged a deck.

Two people were at the house at the time of the fire and had evacuated without injury when crews arrived. The occupants were displaced due to the fire.

Both levels of the house were damaged as well as the attic.

Investigators ruled the cause of the fire as unknown, but the Salt Lake City Fire Department tweeted that "fireworks likely contributed to the fire."
