CEDAR CITY — A resident of Beryl, Iron County was killed in a rollover early Tuesday morning.
According to the Iron County Sheriff’s Office, Carol Sager, 48, left her home Monday to get the mail from the mailbox a few miles away. When she did not return home that night, family members and deputies began searching for her.
They were unable to find her or her vehicle Monday.
Just before 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sager’s family called police saying they had found her car, a white Hyundai sedan.
Investigators determined that as Sager was driving westbound on 5600 North, the vehicle veered off the road, into a sagebrush-filled field, rolling several times.
Sager was ejected, as she was not wearing a seatbelt. She died on scene.
The sheriff’s office says drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash.
