SALT LAKE CITY — A man named as public enemy No. 1 earlier this month by the Metro Gang Unit was apprehended in Salt Lake City Wednesday.

Antonio Rafael Shropshire, 32, considered to be part of a violent street gang, was located and apprehended without incident, police said. No further details were immediately available.

According to the announcement earlier this month, Shropshire was charged with aggravated assault resulting in serious bodily injury and was wanted for a probation violation.

He is a convicted, multi-state felon with prior arrests for drugs, robbery, assaults, kidnapping, attempted homicide, weapons violations and burglary.
