SALT LAKE CITY — Crews put out a two-alarm fire at a sawdust mill in Salt Lake City Friday morning.
Jasen Asay of the Salt Lake City Fire Department said crews were called to 601 S. March St. (2395 West) around 4:30 a.m.
When they arrived, they found light smoke throughout the building, which is owned by Semco Windows & Doors.
Asay said crews discovered mountains of sawdust burning in one of the hoppers, with a few small fire spots on the roof. Firefighters called a second alarm because they were concerned about the fire possibly spreading.
The fire was extinguished but the building was to remain closed Friday.
Firefighters have not determined the cause of the fire and no damage estimate was available.
No employees were present at the time of the fire and no one was injured.
