WEST VALLEY CITY — Two men were taken to the hospital after an altercation in West Valley City Friday.
According to Roxeanne Vainuku of the West Valley City Police Department, two men, ages 29 and 30, began arguing around 4:30 p.m. The argument escalated into a physical fight, and one of the men shot the other in the leg.
Police were called to the apartment near 4000 South and Redwood Road and took the alleged shooter into custody.
The alleged shooter sustained injuries during the physical altercation and was taken to the hospital for treatment. The shooting victim was also taken to the hospital to treat the gunshot wound. Police said his injuries are not life threatening.
Police will continue to investigate the incident, including what prompted the altercation.
