SOUTH OGDEN — The man killed in a traffic accident on Harrison Boulevard Sunday night was identified Monday.
The accident happened shortly after 4 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. 89 and Harrison Boulevard. A southbound Toyota was trying to turn east on Highway 89 when a westbound Saturn crashed into the vehicle, according to Ogden police.
Russell Sylvester, 93, was the driver of the Saturn and died at the scene of the accident. The passenger in the vehicle, Vivian Sylvester, 92, was critically injured in the accident and was transported to a local hospital.
The driver of the Toyota, Kenneth Hahn, 54, and the passenger, Melanie Hahn, 52, were both injured and transported to a local hospital. However, police said their injuries did not appear life-threatening.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation, but initial eyewitness reports said the Saturn ran a red light at the intersection, police said.
