KEARNS – Police released the name of the victim who died in a shooting.

Police identified Theodore B. Kelbach, 49, of Kearns as the man shot and killed on Saturday. Police say witnesses described a heavy-set Polynesian man in his 20s or 30s with long, curly hair in a ponytail fleeing the scene in a silver, four-door passenger car with a sun roof.

"Right now we believe that this individual was probably targeted," Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal said. "The suspect came here for a reason, but we are doing everything we can to locate the individual responsible for this crime."

Police are asking for anyone with information to call police at 385-468-9817.
