SALT LAKE CITY — A Salt Lake man was arrested Thursday night after police say he was intoxicated and fired a shotgun into the air four times.
About 10:30 p.m., police responded to a residence at 171 S. 1200 East after multiple reports of shots being fired. Upon arriving, police learned that an intoxicated man was being loud on the front porch of the home. The man's 4-year-old son was with him.
A neighbor approached the man, later identified as Bryson Lance, 28, and asked him to be quiet and perhaps take his son inside, according to police. Lance became upset but did take his son into the home, police said.
Lance later came back outside with a shotgun and fired it into the air four times "out of agitation" with the neighbor, according to Salt Lake Police Lt. Tyrone Farillas.
No one was injured, Farillas said.
Lance was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of reckless endangerment, possession of a dangerous weapon while intoxicated and endangerment of a child.
Police notified the Division of Child and Family Services, and the boy was taken into state custody.
