LOGAN, Utah (AP) — A 40-year-old Cache County man has pleaded guilty to second-degree felony automobile homicide in the death of the co-owner of a popular coffee house in Logan.
As part of a plea bargain agreement, Alvin Henson of Millville admitted Monday in 1st District Court he was drunk and caused the three-car crash last month that claimed the life of 67-year-old Randy Wirth.
The Herald Journal reports that in exchange, prosecutors dropped two misdemeanor charges related to a court-ordered DUI interlock system.
Wirth co-owned the Caffe Ibis Coffee Roasting Co. with his wife, Sally Sears. He was riding a motorcycle when he was struck by Henson's pickup after it already had collided with a car.
Henson faces up to 15 years in prison at his sentencing set for June 30.
