HILL AIR FORCE BASE — A team of F-22 fighter jets training over the Hill Air Force Base test range caused a stir along the Wasatch Front on Monday.
Representatives from the base confirmed the jets were training, causing loud booming noises that were heard and felt across northern Utah.
The sound and sensation caused by the jets can travel far and seem like an earthquake, HAFB representatives said.
The booms registered a 1.8 on the University of Utah's seismograph system. However, the report was not included on the station's website because it wasn't actually a seismic event.
