SALT LAKE CITY — One of the great things about warmer weather is the chance to see so many of your favorite artists in the fresh air, under the stars.

With a huge local music scene, and venues that appeal to national acts, there are hundreds of options this summer for music lovers to enjoy — free, cheap, pricey — and all outdoors.

The Twilight Concert Series, now in its 27th year, announced its lineup Thursday. Featuring artists like Beck, Lauryn Hill and The Head & The Heart, the shows are sure to draw the massive crowds they have in the past.

The series has moved around the city, requiring bigger and bigger venues as producers book huge names with large, adoring fan bases. The latest home of the Twilight Concerts — Pioneer Park — has seen crowds as large as 33,000, according to series founder Casey Jarman.

Tickets for the Twilight Concert Series are $5.

Red Butte Garden Outdoor Concert Series is another series that features popular national acts. This year’s will include Natalie Cole, The Avett Brothers, Sheryl Crow and Sanatana. The amphitheater holds 3,000 music lovers, and everyone gets a good seat and plenty of fresh air.

Tickets range from $25 to $100, depending on the artist.

Deer Valley Music Festival will host a wide range of musical styles — from country to classical. The Utah Symphony will take the outdoor stage to play the music of John Williams, Disney favorites and to accompany Mary Chapin Carpenter.

Tickets range from $10 to $100, based on the package, some of which include food.
