LOGAN — The man who was killed in a motorcycle accident in Logan Canyon Friday afternoon after driving off the road has been identified.

Craig Allen, 31, was driving westbound on Highway 89 near around 1:30 p.m. when he drove off the road and up an incline, according to Utah Highway Patrol. He was thrown from the motorcycle and suffered fatal injuries. Allen was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

The 2002 black Honda motorcycle caught fire after the accident, and a Division of Wildlife Resources officer saw the fire while he was driving eastbound through the canyon. The DWR officer attempted to give first aid to Allen, but he was pronounced dead on the scene.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.

More information will be posted as it becomes available.
