WEST JORDAN — An office manager of a pediatric clinic has been arrested on suspicion of stealing more than $160,000, police say.
Jill Jacob Phillips, 60, of West Jordan, was arrested Tuesday for investigation of communications fraud, money laundering and theft by deception.
Police say Phillips was the office manager of Southwest Children's Clinic, LLC, 8822 S. Redwood Road. From January 2010 through January 2014, investigators believe she "used the company Zions Bank transaction card to pay her personal debts and the debts of her son ... in the amount if approximately $160,000," a Salt Lake County Jail report states. "This was done by deception as Jill failed to pay the company's bill in an attempt to hide the money she took from the company."
Some of the money Phillips allegedly took was used to pay off her son's car, according to the report.
