SALT LAKE COUNTY — An IHOP in West Valley City and the Asian Isle were closed by the Salt Lake County Health Department for multiple health code violations Monday.

The two restaurants may reopen after the health code violations are corrected, according to the Salt Lake County Health Department website.

There were 24 health code violations at the IHOP, located at 3383 South Decker Lake Drive, according to the notice. Problems included employees not having valid food handler's cards, potential cross contamination between raw eggs and ready-to-eat food, ham being thawed in standing water, and employees touching ready-to-eat food without gloves, according to inspectors.

They also noted that the floor and walls needed to be cleaned.

The Asian Isle, located at 488 E. 100 S. in Salt Lake City, was closed for eight health code violations, according to the notice. Inspectors said violations included raw chicken being stored above ready-to-eat food in the walk-in cooler, and food being stored at incorrect temperatures.
