SALT LAKE CITY — Police are asking for the public's help in identifying two possible suspects in a car theft.

Between midnight and 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, two men were caught on video entering an apartment complex where a Ford Raptor was stolen, police said in a press release. The car had several electronic items left in plain view and firearms locked inside.

Police believe the two suspects were just looking at the car but it turned into an auto theft when they discovered a spare key for the vehicle, which was inside a locked garage.

The first suspect is described as a white male with a shaved head, last seen wearing a dark-colored jacket with a gray hoodie underneath with white shoes.

The second suspect is described as a white male wearing a dark or black-colored jacket with a red line across the chest and a blue baseball hat.

Anyone with information is asked to call 801-799-3000. Anonymous tips can be sent by texting keyword TIPSLCPD plus the relevant information to 274637. The case number is 1437948.
