PHOENIX (AP) — Holton Hunsaker scored 29 points, including 12 straight for Utah Valley late in the second half, to keep the Wolverines alone atop the Western Athletic Conference with a 79-68 victory over Grand Canyon on Thursday night.

Grand Canyon (11-11, 6-3) trailed 32-23 at halftime but rallied from 13 down in the second half to tie the game with 8:40 left. The Wolverines (14-8, 8-1) responded with Hunsaker scoring a dozen consecutive points during a 6-minute span to lead 71-62. Eight Utah Valley free throws in the last 1:26 kept the Antelopes at bay.

Hunsaker's 29 points were a season high for Utah Valley. Ben Aird and Keawe Enos both added 13 points. Mitch Bruneel scored 11.

Killian Larson scored 24 points to lead Grand Canyon with Jerome Garrison adding 19 and Daniel Alexander 15.

Utah Valley made 27 of 29 free throws and Grand Canyon 18 of 22.
