PARK CITY (AP) — A 65-year-old skier from Florida is dead after hitting a tree at Utah's Deer Valley Resort.

Officials with the Park City resort say the ski patrol responded to the crash about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday on the intermediate-level Keno run.

Rescuers were unable to revive the man, who had been wearing a helmet.

Resort spokeswoman Katy McEver says it's unclear why the man hit the tree. His name has not yet been released.
