SALT LAKE CITY — Clearly the classics win. We asked you to tell us which Girl Scout cookies were your favorite and you enthusiastically said the old standbys were best.
Thin Mints won against Chocolate Chip Shortbread, taking 92 percent of the vote. Samoas were also a clear favorite, swiping 90 percent of the votes against Dulce de Leche. Peanut-buttery Tagalongs overcame Thank U Berry Munch. In the battle of shortbreads, Trefoils won 80 percent of the vote against Thanks-A-Lot. Peanut butter sandwiches Do-si-dos were favored over Cranberry Citrus Crisps. The competition between lemony cookies Lemonades and Savannah Smiles, however, was the closest match: Lemonades scored 51 percent of the vote, leaving Savannah Smiles 49 percent.

Since the 1950s, Trefoils, Do-si-dos and Thin Mints have been staples on the Girl Scout cookie order sheet, according to the Girl Scouts of America. Samoas, filled with caramel and coconut, have stuck around since the 1970s, along with Tagalongs, which were introduced in 1976.
Cookies can be bought the old fashioned way through a Girl Scout in your neighborhood or through the Cookie Compass online, if you don’t have a Scout near you. If you miss out on your opportunity when the Girl Scouts are out, find a booth after the cookies are delivered.
This year, eight cookies — Thin Mints, Samoas, Tagalongs, Trefoils, Do-si-dos, Savannah Smiles, Dulce de Lece and Thank U Berry Munch — grace the order sheet. Which ones will you choose? Cast your vote for your favorites.
