BENSON, Cache County — Sheriff's deputies and the Bear River Health Department were kept busy Tuesday over spilled milk.
About 10:45 a.m., a truck from Dairy Way Transportation hauling 5,000 gallons of whey milk took a turn at 2400 West and Airport Road too quickly and overturned.
The driver was new to the company, according to the Cache County Sheriff's Office. The driver and a passenger, the driver's trainer, climbed out of the overturned vehicle. They were transported to a local hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, according to the sheriff's office. The driver was cited for speeding.
An undetermined amount of whey leaked from the tanker into a nearby creek. The Bear River Health Department was pumping it out of the water Tuesday afternoon.
