WEST POINT CITY — A Davis County woman suffered minor injuries after crashing her car into a home in West Point early Sunday morning.
The Davis County Sheriff's Office is investigating what may have prompted the female driver to run a red light at the intersection of 300 North and 2000 West. Sgt. Susan Poulsen said the incident occurred around 7 a.m.
Poulsen says the woman, from West Point, was traveling east on 300 North. A man from Syracuse driving a Ford pickup truck was heading southbound on 2000 South when the two vehicles collided, causing the female driver's Kia to spin out of control. Poulsen said the woman's car careened across two yards before striking a home located at 262 N. 2000 West. The house received minor damage.
The woman was transported to an Ogden area hospital with minor injuries, Poulsen said. The driver of the truck was treated and released at the scene of the accident. Both motorists were the sole occupants of their vehicles.
Investigators do not believe drugs or alcohol were involved.
