DENVER, Colo. — An investigation is underway after a police officer crashed his vehicle into the back of a parked truck early Saturday morning. The owner of the truck said the crash happened while the officer was looking at his computer.
Denver artist John Henley told at KUSA he woke up around 2:30 a.m. and heard an odd sound, something like "the newspaper hitting the front yard."
"My wife opened the door and looked out says, 'Looks like there is a cop. No the cop car is on top of your truck,'" Henley told a KUSA reporter.
Henley said the officer admitted to being distracted by his computer and apologized for the accident.
KUSA said the Denver Police Department was investigating and, as of Saturday, was not ready to comment on the incident.
