SOUTH SALT LAKE — South Salt Lake police are searching for a hit-and-run driver and say another driver made a false report.

Police received a call overnight from a woman who claimed she was involved in a hit-and-run, according to Sgt. Eric Jensen.

After questioning her, police now believe she hit a vehicle then drove from the scene to make a false report about being the victim of a hit-and-run.

Coincidentally, a short time later police received several more calls about vehicles that were hit in an nearby apartment complex at 404 E. 3335 South.

Police believe someone else hit one vehicle, drove over the lawn of the complex and hit another, then took off.

Police are still looking for the driver involved in the second crashes. They're working on getting surveillance video from the complex.
