MURRAY — Crews worked Wednesday morning to clean up debris from a water main break that sent water spraying across 4500 South at 700 East.
A water line that feeds several nearby businesses broke just before 4 a.m.
At times water spewed 40 feet into the air, across all six lanes of traffic and onto the other side of the road. Mud and rock remained on the slick road as Jordan Valley Water District crews began cleaning up and making repairs.
The surrounding businesses may not have water when they initially open Wednesday because those repairs were expected to take several hours.
One traffic lane remained closed in the area.
In Eagle Mountain, a water main broke on Golden Eagle between Kitty Hawk and Sparrowhawk. The road is closed and six homes are expected to be without water for several hours.
Updates will be posted as they become available.
