SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Police have arrested a former Utah junior college basketball coach who law enforcement officials say has described himself as an "Islamist jihadist."

Police in Price, Utah arrested Christopher Craig on Thursday morning on an outstanding warrant for misdemeanor drug possession.

Capt. Bill Barnes says Craig is facing additional misdemeanor charges after officers found marijuana and a pipe in his car.

Police in Colorado issued a warning to church leaders last week about Craig, a former head coach at Utah State University Eastern in Price, Utah.

The alert said he had been going around saying Mormons and Catholics "would be destroyed' in the coming weeks."

Barnes said Craig was still being held in Carbon County Jail on Friday morning and did not yet have an attorney.
