OGDEN (AP) — A 54-year-old man has been charged with aggravated assault after authorities say he stabbed a pitchfork through another man's hand.

The Standard-Examiner reports Louie Wayne Ash Jr. was charged Thursday after the confrontation on Wednesday.

A police report says the situation started when Ash got into an argument that ended with him pushing a woman, causing her to hit her head and black out.

Authorities say the woman's boyfriend got involved and the two began pushing each other. That's when Ash reportedly sent a pitchfork through the man's left hand.

He was booked into the Weber County Jail on Wednesday, and faces charges of felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor assault.

Ash was expected in court Friday.
