PROVO — Provo Police have arrested a woman who made good on threats she sent through a series of text messages.
The woman was apparently mad because her boyfriend got another woman pregnant.
This isn't the first time police have had to deal with a fight between two women over a boyfriend. But in this case, the aggressor continually texted the victim, telling her she was on her way to beat her up.
Broken glass on the street shows where the emotions between the two Provo women boiled over leaving the victim's car in a mess.
"It sounds like it was over a boyfriend," said Det. Chris Chambers from the Provo Police Department.
Police say 18-year-old Kimberly Vela was so upset at the other woman that she sent text messages, threatening to harm not only the woman who is three months pregnant, but her unborn child.
When the victim was not responding to her, she kept driving towards the residence and kept updating her texts saying, 'I'm almost there', and therefore the victim was smart enough to not open the door after receiving those messages and called police.

"They were progressively stating that she was on her way to beat her up," Chambers said. "She was very upset."
Police say Vela kept sending text messages as she drove through the streets of Provo, telling the victim she was getting closer.
"When the victim was not responding to her, she kept driving towards the residence and kept updating her texts saying, ‘I'm almost there', and therefore the victim was smart enough to not open the door after receiving those messages and called police," Chambers said.
When the victim wouldn't open the door, police say Vela took out her frustration on the victim's car.
"The suspect took a metal bar and proceeded to break out all the windows on her vehicle," Chambers said.
Damage to the car is estimated at over $2,000.
Police credit the victim for having the good sense to avoid any confrontation with the woman.
"She saved herself from injury and although she had to deal with some property damage, she wasn't hurt," he said.
Police say those text messages will be used as evidence against the woman as she faces charges of making terroristic threats, assault on a pregnant woman and criminal mischief.
