SALT LAKE CITY — The Fourth of July is upon us and while most of us will spend it in front of a barbeque and setting off fireworks while simultaneously trying to avoid burning down this great state, you could also go see a movie.
If you're military personnel you can go see a movie for free.
Sony Entertainment announced that they have teamed up with Cinemark Theaters, Carmike Theaters, AMC Theaters and Regal Entertainment Group to offer free admission to "White House Down" for military personnel on July 4.
"We think ‘White House Down' is the summer's best action movie, so on July 4, we're inviting all active duty and veteran military personnel to bring a guest to see it for free," Sony released in a statement. "It's a great way to celebrate the holiday and to honor and thank the troops for their service to our country."
This may be a bit of a ploy to promote "White House Down" after a less than impressive opening weekend last week, but regardless, it's a pretty cool move.
