Salt Lake City — 15 minutes of fame has turned into a career for Takeru Kobayashi, the professional competitive eater from Japan.

In 2001, Kobayashi made a name for himself by devouring 50 hot dogs in 12 minutes in Nathan's Coney Island hot dog-eating contest.

Kobayashi has set impressive marks in hamburgers (97), bratwursts (58 in 10 minutes), and even the stomach-churning cowbrains (17.7 pounds in 15 minutes).

The Salt Lake Bees brought Kobayashi in for a friendly hot dog eating competition on Friday and as expected, made a meal out of the competition.

KSL's Mike Grant, a skilled amateur consumer, competed against one of the greatest eaters the world has ever seen.

Final score: Mike 2, Kobayashi 10.
