SALT LAKE CITY — A woman was arrested over the weekend for allegedly forcing a dog to swallow insecticide and tossing the dog's body in a Dumpster.
Kimberly Michelle Davis, 53, was arrested for investigation of felony cruelty to animals. Salt Lake police were called to 1363 S. Emery St. (1170 West) about 12:30 p.m. Saturday by a concerned neighbor.
After finding the dog's body in a Dumpster, detectives interviewed Davis and arrested her. She told them she sprayed Raid down the dog's throat, according to a Salt Lake County Jail report.
Salt Lake police detective Mike Hamideh said workers who deal with people who have mental illnesses were also called to the scene.
