SOUTH OGDEN — A teen riding a bike that had no brakes was hit by a car and hospitalized Sunday afternoon.
The 14-year-old boy was trying to cross Washington Blvd. at the intersection with 4300 South at about 1 p.m. A car traveling south on the road struck the boy, according to a press release.
Investigators discovered that the bike bad no working brake system, which "likely contributed to the collision," the release said.
He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was treated for injuries that were not life threatening.
Police said there was no evidence that drugs or alcohol played a part in the accident.
