SALT LAKE CITY — A Salt Lake City man lost his transportation and residence when his motor home caught fire after he attempted to drive it Friday afternoon.

Harvey Dunn was the owner of the 19-foot 1978 Dodge motor home which he also reportedly lived in. Dunn said he loved to travel, so he had used the motor home as his permanent residence for the past 19 years.

Dunn reported that he had replaced the fuel pump earlier in the day, and as he tried to turn on the vehicle, the motor home caught fire.

"That dash was on fire so fast," Dunn said. "I was lucky to get out. I'm alive, and that's all I care about."

It is still unknown what caused the fire. More information will be posted as it becomes available.
