WEST VALLEY CITY — Police say an early morning home invasion robbery on Friday may have been drug related.
About 4 a.m., West Valley police were called to a report of shots fired at 3492 W. Ottawa Drive. When officers arrived, they learned that five to six men had reportedly forced their way inside and assaulted the home's occupants, said West Valley Police Sgt. Todd Gray.
During the course of the assault, at least one shot was fired.
The suspects fled before officers arrived. It was not known immediately if anything from inside the house was taken. Gray said the occupants of the house, who were not seriously injured, were not being very cooperative with detectives.
The incident was not believed to be random, and was "possibly over some type of a drug-related incident," he said.
