SPANISH FORK — The Southbound I-15 Spanish Fork Main Street exit was closed for a few hours Friday morning after a semitrailer rolled spilling frozen crab across the road.

Utah Highway Patrol officers responded to a traffic accident at 5:36 a.m. when a semtrailer traveling southbound on I-15 rolled after over correcting on the turn of the Spanish Fork Main Street exit.

The semitrailer rolled into its left side and struck a metal guardrail and sign post causing the trailer to tear open. The semitrailer was carrying $176,000 worth of frozen crab and the majority of the 75,000 pounds of cargo were spilled onto the freeway and exit off ramp.

Driver Anil Rao, 40, of Ontario and passenger, Iftekher Ahmed, 48, were both transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

The Spanish Fork Main Street exit was closed due to the accident and the cleanup took a few hours. The exit was reopened as of 11:55 a.m.
