SANDY — Five months ago a Sandy man and his girlfriend were found dead inside a burned-out home. Now, the people who loved them are putting out a plea to bring those responsible to justice.
Ralph Salazar's house is still vacant. The windows are blackened from smoke and an eerie feeling lingers, even five months after he and his girlfriend, Alice Griego, were found dead inside.
Someone shot the couple then lit their bedroom on fire, police said, to hide evidence. There are still no solid leads in the case.
"We've been asking for the public's help," said Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal. "If anyone saw anything that day, or in the neighborhood, please call the Unified Police Department."

The lack of any leads prompted Salazar's niece, Lisa DeHerrera, to pay for an electronic billboard along I-15 on 1500 South.
"It's been really empty," she said. "We haven't been able to move on because we don't have any answers."
She and her family are praying passers-by will call police with information, no matter how little they think they know.
"We're not going to stop," DeHerrera said. "We're not going to stop looking. We're not going to let it go."
