TAYLORSVILLE — An armed robber stole from a convenience store and then attacked the clerk to get more money.
Lt. Steve Shreeve with the Unified Police Department said a man dressed in black entered the Conoco store at 4800 S. Redwood Road around 2 a.m. and stole money out of the till. He then pulled a knife and told the clerk to give him more cash.
The clerk complied, but not before the robber attacked and cut the clerk's face. The robber then fled.
Emergency crews treated the clerk at the scene and said the cut was minor.
The robber is described as a man in his 40s, about 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing 220 pounds. He ran east from the store. K-9 units were called out but could not find him.
Investigators will review surveillance video for clues to the robber's identity.
