PLEASANT GROVE -- What would you do if your business was stolen overnight? A Pleasant Grove family is trying to cope with this devastating reality.

A semi truck full of merchandise was taken from outside their home, putting a father and husband out of work.

Travis Fairbourn makes his living on the road, but now he's grounded. Fairborn says he parks his semi in the same place whenever he's home, but Monday morning, the truck and a trailer full of items ready for delivery were gone.

Fairborn supports his small family - wife Kristie and two young daughters - as an independent driver. His truck and trailer alone are worth about $90,000 and the merchandise inside is valued at $100,000.

Whoever did this is not thinking about how it affects people.

"Very troubling feeling there," he said.

Troubling because that truck was the Fairbourn's only real source of income.

"Whoever did this is not thinking about how it affects people," said Kristie Fairbourn.

Kristie says the life their family enjoys in Pleasant Grove is now at risk. As Travis deals with insurance, hoping for the truck to turn up, he's not making any money.

"It's been really, really hard on our family," said Kristie.

Travis is just as concerned.

"Financially, it will be a pretty big hit," he said.

It's a real tough pill to swallow.

–Travis Fairbourn

The Volvo semi has the name Fairbourn Transport the side, along with a unique front bumper Travis says is very rare.

While he says insurance will help him start up again, getting a new truck would likely set him back another ten thousand dollars.

"It's a real tough pill to swallow," Travis said.

It's tough even if the truck turns up. Right now, Fairbourn says he's losing a lot of work and he's itching to get on the road again.
