WOODS CROSS — An auto-pedestrian accident in Woods Cross left a man dead Tuesday night.

Emergency responders on the scene at 1800 South and Redwood Road said the man was hit while trying to move a deer carcass out of the roadway.

Woods Cross Police Detective Adam Osoro did not release many details Tuesday night, as the investigation into the accident was ongoing. Neither man's name nor his age were released.

Osoro said this incident serves as an unfortunate reminder that drivers should never attempt to remove road debris by themselves.

"Anytime you see a hazard in the roadway, the safest thing to do is notify law enforcement," Osoro said. "Let us show up, assess the scene, and we'll take it from there."

More information will be posted as it becomes available.
