SALT LAKE CITY — On Aug. 28, 1961, it was 97 degrees here at the Salt Lake International Airport. That record fell Tuesday — but not by much.

While the official temperature didn't make it into the hundreds, it was close. It reached 98 degrees Tuesday — 98 degrees, as in the boy band from the ‘90s.
