SALT LAKE CITY — Washington Wizards center JaVale McGee is back in the spotlight after his embarrassing mistake a few weeks ago where he ran back on defense while his team still had the ball.
Now, after playing in the NBA for the last four years, McGee has decided basketball is not his sport. Instead, he has a promising career in volleyball after swatting away the shot of Francisco Garcia of the Sacramento Kings. And although McGee has no real plans to quit the NBA, the blocked shot was still legit.
Between the legs dunk
Playing at home against Texas Tech, the Iowa State Cyclones pulled away with a 72-54 win, giving them 20 wins for the first time in eight years. But it was sophomore Royce White of the Cyclones that stole the show with his pass to himself between the legs of a Texas Tech defender for a dunk.
White finished the night with 13 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists, helping the Cyclones to their big win.
Blake Griffin dunks over everyone
Los Angeles Clippers star Blake Griffin continues to amaze with his never-ending dunks, bringing excitement back to a team that hasn't seen much success in several years. Even the Los Angeles Lakers are seemingly fighting for the spotlight with Griffin continuously making the highlight reels and bringing in fans to watch his compelling "lob- city" show.
Early in the third quarter against the Denver Nuggets, Chris Paul, standing behind the arc, dished the ball to Griffin with a behind-the-back pass. Griffin, running at full force, leaped from just inside the foul line over every player under the basket for an amazing dunk. It is hard for any fan of basketball to not be entertained by Griffin's dunking abilities.
Jeremy Evans on Twitter
Following the announcement of his participation in the 2012 Sprite Slam Dunk contest, and with the constant pleadings from fans, Jeremy Evans is now on Twitter, using the handle @JeremyEvans40.
Tweeting for the first time, Evans shared a YouTube video of a 360 degree dunk he did at the Pro Player Charity Classic at Salt Lake Community College during the NBA lockout. Is that video any indication of his first dunk in the contest?
Carlos Boozer's new hair
Much has been said recently about Carlos Boozer and his newfound hair, but someone had a little fun, inserting a picture of Boozer's new 'do into the scene of a Bob Ross painting. Instead of Bob Ross, maybe Ron Popeil and his iconic hair spray could be of more use for Boozer.
