(KSL News) Centerville police say a man who was shot and killed by an officer never said anything before he was killed.
The Deseret Morning News reports police say they have Steven Lane's girlfriend on tape telling Lane's brother what happened.
Centerville Police Chief Neal Worsley says the woman admits Lane pulled a gun on police and makes the statement, "Yes, he did, and they shot him." Worsley declined to release the tape.
Yesterday Lane's family called us and said Lane hid from police to avoid being arrested on an outstanding warrant. They told us Lane was unarmed and tried to surrender before he was shot.
Bountiful Police are investigating the incident.
