(KSL News) The Utah Supreme Court will hear from a convicted killer on death row, today.

Ralph LeRoy Menzies was convicted of killing a Kearns gas station clerk in 1987. He was then sentenced to death and appealed, but an appeals judge refused to reopen the case.

The matter will now go before the Utah Supreme Court.

Menzies maintains his innocence and claims he had inadequate counsel at the time of his trial.
