TIMPANOGOS CAVE -- A little girl took a nasty fall during a school field trip to Timpanogos Cave Wednesday.

The 11-year-old girl from Bennion Elementary School in Taylorsville was walking down the trail from the cave when she turned to talk to a classmate, tripped and fell off the steep embankment.

The girl fell about 100 feet, with part of that fall being broken by a branch. She banged up her shoulder, back and neck but never lost consciousness.

The area where the girl fell was a bit tricky to get to, so park rangers had to bring in a search and rescue team to get her out.
