SALT LAKE CITY — Delta announced Tuesday the launch of additional nonstop service between Salt Lake City and Washington-Reagan National Airport beginning June 7.
The new flight will be among a handful that exceed the federally mandated limit of 1,250- statute miles for flights in and out of the airport near Washington, D.C. The restriction is in place to help control capacity.
"We consistently hear from our customers that they prefer to fly to DCA because of the airport’s convenient location near central Washington, D.C.," said Delta spokesman Trebor Banstetter.
Delta currently operates four daily flights to the nation's capital from Salt Lake City, including one to DCA, one to Washington Dulles International Airport and two to Baltimore-Washington International Airport, Banstetter said.
During peak flying times, Delta will operate 280 daily flights from its Salt Lake City hub. The airline disclosed the information on the arrival and departure times for the new flights:
Flight No. 2360 departs SLC at 4:50 p.m. and arrives at DCA at 10:55 p.m.
Flight No. 2359 leaves DCA at 7:45 a.m. and arrives in SLC at 10:22 a.m.
