CORVALLIS, Oregon — The No. 20 Utes had to battle it out through two overtimes, but managed a 29-23 win over Oregon State on the road. Running back Devontae Booker managed a 19-yard rushing touchdown to seal the deal for the Utes.

Booker finished the game with 229 yards and three touchdowns on 32 carries. Booker's final two touchdowns came in each overtime to keep Utah alive. From start to finish, Booker was the team's best option.

Booker was all of Utah's offense, with both quarterbacks Kendal Thompson and Travis Wilson struggling to get the ball moving. Additionally, receivers were making it hard for the Utes to get anything in the pass game as a result of several dropped passes.

Utes defense looks good! Now if Dres Anderson would quit dropping passes we would be in good shape!😒 — Han-Solo (@_rager23) October 17, 2014

Although Booker deserves credit for the win in overtime, it was the defense that ultimately made sure Utah remained in the game. Utah managed five sacks and put pressure on Beavers quarterback Sean Mannion.

Utah's defensive line is the best I've seen in some time, and they've had some good ones. — Sam Strong (@SamStrong) October 17, 2014

This is as good as Utah has looked to me since 2008 era team that beat Alabama in Sugar. How'd Utes blow 21-0 at home to Wazzu? — Chris Dufresne (@DufresneLATimes) October 17, 2014

> Dear Recruits, if you are a WR you can be a four year starter at Utah and not redshirt. [\#Utes](https://twitter.com/hashtag/Utes?src=hash) If you are a D-linemen, you make the NFL. > > — B-Ross (@brossutahman) [October 17, 2014](https://twitter.com/brossutahman/status/522966565801955328)

The defense got things rolling after linebacker Gionni Paul picked off the first pass of the game from Mannion and never really gave up despite the offensive struggles.

Wanted a sack on that play, but I'll settle for a pick. #Utes — Ben Gillis (@bsgillis) October 17, 2014

Utah improves to 5-1 on the season and has a winning record for the first time since joining the Pac-12. Utah is also undefeated on the road this season — a feat Utah has struggled with since joining the conference.
